I had the pleasure of staying a weekend at the Dolphin Resort in Walt Disney World. When you walk in through the Dolphin’s revolving doors you enter a lushly decorated waiting area before entering its beautiful lobby. The lobby features a dolphin sculpture water fountain with many shiny crystals hanging over it. There is a bar called Phins right by the fountain that is perfect for pre-dinner drinks and small bites.
We checked in to our double balcony room on the 6th floor which had two double beds, a sink outside of the bathroom (love it when hotel rooms have this feature,) and a balcony view of the lake and tower of terror, perfect for seeing Hollywood Studios fireworks at night. The room decor is modern with beautiful shades of aqua throughout.
A great perk of staying at either the Swan or Dolphin is that you can enjoy the restaurants and activities at both resorts. On our first night we walked over to the Swan for dinner at Kimonos, one of the resorts signature restaurants. Kimonos offers an excellent sushi menu, we chose three rolls on our visit: coconut shrimp, dragon and kimonos. All three were excellent but the dragon roll is made with a giant prawn and was one of the best dragon rolls I’ve had.
After dinner we took the complimentary shuttle to Magic Kingdom. The resorts also offer a complimentary water shuttle to Epcot and Hollywood Studios which we took advantage of on our second day.
There is also a large pool area, perfect for soaking in Florida sun, and a great gym to workout after Disney treats.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Dolphin Resort and can’t wait to be back
